How do I remove the black border round my signage?

What is it?


When you are deploying signage to a screen, you might notice a black region surrounding your sign.

In general, this is a narrow, black border which doesn't cause an issue.

However, on some screens, the black border might be wider than desirable.

If this is the case, the following section includes step-by-step instructions on how to adjust (or completely remove) the border.


You will need:


- A USB mouse 
- Some expertise with the Android operating system


How to remove it:

For MK808/MK809III (Dongle) Devices:

  1. Plug the USB mouse into a spare socket on your signage device.
  2. Once the mouse pointer appears on the screen, click to raise the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. 
  3. Click on the Home icon.
  4. Click the Apps icon (six little dots).
  5. Click the Settings icon.
  6. Navigate to Display then Screen Scale.
  7. Adjust the scale so that the border shrinks to nothing.
  8. Click back a few time to the Apps page.
  9. Click on the SignStix Player icon to return to the signage.


For a EKD06 'Wedge' Device:

  1. Plug the USB mouse into a spare socket on your signage device.
  2. Double-right-click the mouse to exit signage.
  3. Right-click again to exit the Player app. 
  4. Click the Apps icon (six little dots). 
  5. Click the Settings icon (cog wheel).
  6. Click 'Display'.
  7. Click 'Screen Scale'.
  8. Use the buttons to adjust the border.
  9. Click back a few times to the Apps page. 
  10. Click on the SignStix Player icon to return to the signage. 


For an APC 380 Device (set top box):

  1. Plug the USB mouse into a spare socket on your signage device.
  2. Double-right-click the mouse to exit signage. 
  3. Right-click again to exit the Player app. 
  4. Click the Apps icon (six little dots).
  5. Click the 'SettingsMbox' icon (cog wheel in square box). 
  6. Click 'Display'.
  7. 'Click 'Display Position'.
  8. Use the '-' / '+' buttons to adjust the border. 
  9. Click back a few times to the Apps page. 
  10. Click on the SignStix player icon to return to the signage.


For an M12S Device (set top box):

  1. Plug the USB mouse into a spare socket on your signage device.
  2. Double-right-click the mouse to exit signage. 
  3. Click the Apps button on the white Controls page.
  4. Click 'MXQSettings'. 
  5. Click 'Display&Sound'.
  6. Click 'Adjustment'.
  7. Use arrows to adjust the border. 
  8. Click back a few times to the white Controls page. 
  9. Click the 'Start Signage' button to return to the signage.
