Why haven't my screens updated after deploying?
If you have deployed new signage (or other content) to a device/location and the screens have not updated after you clicked the Deploy button, please try the following steps:
- Check that the signage device is in contact with the SignStix server. See the following link to determine whether a network issue is preventing the device from downloading new content: https://www.signstix.com/support/troubleshooting/my-signage-device-has-a-red-dot-next-to-it-in-director/
- Check that the device is in the correct location. Confirm this by navigating through to the bottom of your location to view all the device registered within that location. Are all the expected devices present? You can change a devices location in its setting page.
- Check that you have assigned the right content to the device. Confirm this by navigating to the bottom of your location to view the content thumbnails and titles assigned to each device within that location. If using a schedule or campaign schedule, check that they are using a suitable start time and date.
- Is the device still downloading the new content? High resolution images and videos over a slow connection may take longer to download. To find out if a device is still downloading, locate the device within the Devices section on your SignStix account. If the device has a flashing cloud icon then the device is still downloading content. If the cloud is green the device has completed the download, if it is grey it has failed to download the latest content.
- For a sign with a video box, have you also deployed a playlist? The playlist assigned to a device determine what video files are played within that video box. If no playlist has been assigned and deployed, the video box will appear blank. - Try enabling the download progress bar. This causes a green bar to show at the bottom of the screen when content is being downloaded. Locate the device in the Devices section of your SignStix account and edit the settings to enable the 'download progress'. Select save changes and wait for 2 minutes for the progress bar to appear on the screen.
- Still no signage? In case the device's network status has become confused, power-off the device, wait for 10 seconds, then power it on again.
